Former Judge Eric Yost of Wichita, KS; ethical troll

The State of Kansas provided Eric Yost with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law.

The Kansas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Eric guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he sitting as a 18th District Court Judge in Wichita.

  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications
  • Failed to afford everyone who had a legal interest in a proceeding, or that person’s attorney, the right to be heard according to law (due process)
  • Violated well-settled Kansas law prohibiting issuance of ex parte order modifying final custody or residential placement order without having sworn testimony to support a showing of an alleged emergency
  • Violated attorney-client confidentiality during an FBI investigation of the County Commission

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary cease and desist order. Hear tell a cease and desist order is quite painful!

As we speak (ca. December 2019), Eric practices with the Law Office of Eric R. Yost at 300 West Douglas Avenue in Wichita, Kansas.
