Former Judge Deborah Neal of Kansas City, KS; convict, degenerate gambler

At one time, Deborah Neal was a Municipal Court Judge in Kansas City.

During her tenure on the bench, Judge Neal was indicted for mail fraud and subsequently sentenced to 28 months in a federal prison.

Debbie was a degenerate gambler who sought out loans from at 10 attorneys who defended cases in her court. The loans obtained by Debbie were used for gambling in local casinos.

Debbie admitted accepting loans of about $35,000 from 17 lawyers. Evidence provided during her trial and/or by the Judicial Commission found that she provided favorable treatment to some of the attorneys who made bribes to her, I’m sorry I mean loans.

Deb also admitted that she gave preferential treatment to certain attorneys and their clients. On one occasion she dismissed 41 traffic citations issued to a defense attorney without the knowledge of or consent of the local prosecutor.

An unreliable source indicated that after her release from prison, Debbie is employed as a greeter at the Sam’s Club on North Oak Trafficway in Kansas City. In lieu of a paycheck, Debbie is paid with chips from the Argosy Casino in Riverside, Missouri.
