Judge Dennis Bailey of Ft. Lauderdale; ethical gnome

The state of Florida presented Dennis Daniel Bailey with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Law.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Denny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Caused additional harm to the judiciary by untoward conduct aimed at a defense attorney during a trial and in the presence of the jury
  • Failed to appreciate/acknowledge his actions in presence of jury by directing a confrontational statement to a defense attorney
  • Failed to properly address a motion to disqualify him from presiding over a criminal matter
  • Failed to act with patience and dignity while dealing with those appearing before him
  • Failed to act to preserve the integrity and independence of the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Denny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2019), Denny continues to sit as a Broward County Circuit Court judge in Fort Pierce, Florida.
