Judge Richard Allman of Brooklyn, NY; arrogant loser

The state of New York presented Richard N. Allman with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Pace University Law School.

The New York Judicial Commission found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

While displaying anger Legal Aid attorney Steven Terry during a court proceeding, Dick left the bench during a break in the proceedings.

Dick then approached Mr. Terry, who was standing at counsel’s table inside well area of the courtroom, and grabbed him firmly, placing his left hand on Terry’s right arm, a few inches above Terry’s right elbow, and placing his right hand on Terry’s left arm a few inches above Terry’s left elbow.

Now standing face-to-face with Terry, Dick stated in a loud voice, “All I want you to do is listen to me.” When Terry protested that Dick was touching him, Dick removed his hands and yelled:

  • “This is my courtroom!”
  • “You will do what I want you to do in my courtroom.”
  • “Do you understand?”

Dick then returned to the bench and ordered Mr. Terry to leave the courtroom.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits on the Judicial Commission punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Because Judicial Misfits in New York are held to a much lower standard of conduct, Dick was never criminally charged with assault. You can bet that had Mr. Terry physically went after Dick that he’d been charged with assault.

As we speak (ca. August 2014), Dick remains sitting as a Judge of the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Kings County.
