Judge Timothy Cooper of Angola, NY; drunk, lifetime porker

The state of New York presented Timothy J. Cooper with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of New York Buffalo Law School.

Over the past thirty years (ca. 1985 to 2015), Cooper has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. If it weren’t for a government check, Timmy would likely be working as a low paid public defender. As we speak (ca. May 2015, Timmy earns $160,000 a year.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct charged Judge Cooper with the following misconduct.

In one matter, Judge Cooper was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. At the time, Cooper was driving north on the Robert Moses Parkway in the Town of Lewiston when he swerved into the southbound lane hitting an SUV head on, causing it to flip onto its side. State troopers administered a field sobriety test after smelling alcohol, a test that Cooper failed. According to the police report, Cooper refused to take a chemical breath test.

All that remains now is to see what punishment the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission mete out to Judge Cooper. At most he’ll likely receive a complimentary reprimand.
