Judge Lawrence Mitchell of Dallas; repeat offender
The state of Texas presented Lawrence B. Mitchell with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Law School.
The District 14th Judicial District Court of Dallas County Grievance Committee found Judge Mitchell guilty of the following misconduct prior to him ascending to the bench in January 2007
In November 2006, Mitchell succeeded in duping the voters in the Dallas area into electing him to a seat on the 292nd District Court.
As on would suspect, this wasn’t Mitchell’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. Three years earlier, Judge Mitchell received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Judge Mitchell by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. January 2013) Judge Mitchell is now the presiding judge on the 292nd Criminal District Court located in Dallas, Texas.
