Judge Scott Vanderkarr of Columbus, OH; one of the good Guys

The state of Ohio presented Scott Vanderkarr with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Capitol University Law School in Columbus, Ohio.

Judge Vanderkarr has been sitting on the Franklin County Municipal Court since 1995. He recently presided over a case involving attorney Christopher Cicero of Columbus in regards to a traffic ticket he had received.

During a court proceeding involving Cicero’s traffic case, he knowingly lied to Judge Vanderkarr that the local prosecutor had agreed to amend his speeding ticket to a headlight violation. Judge Vanderkarr then found Cicero guilty of criminal contempt of court and sentenced him to spend five days in jail.

Kudos to Judge Vanderkarr for proving that he is one of the good guys! If every judge tossed every lying attorney in jail, we wouldn’t have enough cells to accommodate them all.
