U.S. Judge Murray Snow of Phoenix; one of the good guys

The state of Arizona presented Murray G. Snow with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) Law School.

Judge Snow was nominated by former President George W. Bush and received his commission to sit as a U.S. District Court judge in Phoenix in 2008.

In one matter, Judge Snow was assigned to hear a case involving renowned bigot Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in regards to the manner in which Joey and his comrades targeted Latino’s for special treatment via racial profiling while they were driving.

Despite Judge Snow’s explicit orders that Arpaio cease and desist from engaging in such racial profiling, Arpaio thumbed his nose at the court’s order.

As a consequence of Arpaio’s repeated violations of the court’s order, Judge Snow recently (05/13/16) Joey was cited for three counts of contempt. In addition, Joey’s lapdogs, Chief Deputy Gerald Sheridan was cited for two counts of contempt and retired Executive Chief Brian Sands and Lieutenant Joseph Sousa were cited for one count each. The sheriff was cited for three counts of contempt in the court’s order. Chief Deputy Gerald Sheridan was found to have committed two counts of contempt and retired Executive Chief Brian Sands and Lieutenant Joseph Sousa were cited for one count each.

Joey who laughingly claims to be “America’s Toughest Sheriff,” faces possible fines and restitution to those he so cheerfully harmed by his bigoted actions. Joey could also face criminal charges stemming from his refusal to abide by the court’s order.

If Judge Snow does charge Joey and his comrades with criminal contempt, I would suggest that Joey be ordered to serve his time in the 4th Avenue Jail in Phoenix. This will allow Joey to commiserate with the Latinos he intentionally discriminated against. After sentencing him, Judge Snow should say, “Hasta la vista, baby.”

Kudos to Judge Murray Snow for having the courage and fortitude to stand up to a loudmouth, dyed-in-the-wool bigot.

As we speak (ca. May 2016), Judge Snow remains sitting as a U.S. District Court Judge in Phoenix, Arizona.
