U.S. Judge John Adams of Akron, OH; serial slacker

The state of Ohio presented John R. Adams with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Akron School of Law.

Former President George W. Bush was duped into appointing Johnny to a seat as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Ohio in 2003. Johnny didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified lawyer in the greater Akron area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first article exposing Johnny’s ethical shortcomings. A review of a prior award to Johnny can be viewed by visiting the URLs at the end of this article.

In one matter,Johnny was assigned to preside over a civil case involving Akron Firefighters who filed suit against the City of Akron.

Subsequently, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati ordered that Johnny be removed from presiding over the 9-year-old lawsuit. In its removal order, the Circuit Court said in part:

  • Adams “contributed greatly” to the protracted litigation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Waited 9 months after a jury trial to issue a judgment and findings of fact in the case
  • Took 15 months to issue rulings on motions filed after trial
  • Never addressed some issues brought up in various motions
  • Displayed “substantial difficulty in putting out of his mind previously expressed views or findings" about previous portions of the Firefighter’s case

This is exactly what you get when someone of Johnny’s ilk is provided with a lifetime judgeship based solely on the fact that he had proven to be a reliable Republican Lackey for his entire adult life.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Arrogant Johnny continues to sit a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Ohio in Akron, Ohio.
