Solicitor Ong Pang Meng of Singapore; slacker, loser

The Law Society of Singapore presented Ong Pang Meng with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the National University of Singapore School of Law.

The Singapore Disciplinary Tribunal found Ong guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act wit due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in grossly improper conduct
  • Breached his duty of care to his client
  • Failed to transfer settlement sum of $20,000 into client account
  • Failed to maintain a reasonable level of communication with his client
  • Failed to provide a statement of account to his client for a sum of $5,000, being client’s money, which he retained for a lengthy period despite his client’s requests for a statement of account or return
  • Without authority, instructions and/or consent, accepted a counterproposal of $6,000 offered by the Plaintiff in respect of a matter in which his client was the Defendant
  • Failed to explain in a clear manner the counterproposal of $6,000 offered by the Plaintiff in respect a matter in which his client was the Defendant

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Three Judges of the Republic of Singapore punished Yeo by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Ong practices with the CK Tan Law Corporation at 50 Armenian Street in Singapore.
