Solicitor Ma Siu Liam of Hong Kong; ethical gnome

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Ma Siu Lam with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law. He also received a license to practice law in England and Wales in 1974, Australia in 1983 and Singapore in 1989.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Ma Siu Liam guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act in the best interest of his client
• Compromised reputation of the legal profession
• Failed to act with a proper standard of work
• Failed to deliver bills of costs to client in timely manner

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Ma Siu Liam by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a fine of HK$150,000.00 ($19,162.00 US).

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Ma Siu Liam practices with Lai K.M. & Li at 88 Queens Road Central in Hong Kong.
