Judge Edwin Larida Jr.  of the Philippines; ethical troll

 

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Edwin C. Larida Jr. with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

 

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Committed various anomalies and irregularities
  • Committed several lapses in judgment
  • Failed to submit to the court required inventory of locally funded employees
  • Improperly allowed court employee to draft court orders
  • Manifested a wrong attitude towards administrative rules and regulations issued for the governance and administration of the lower courts to the extent of disregarding them
  • Was lax in control of his Branch and supervision of its functioning staff
  • Knowingly allowing detailed employees to solicit commissions from bonding companies
  • Failed to take or initiate appropriate disciplinary measures against court personnel for unprofessional conduct of which he become aware of

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Al by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension from the bench without pay and a fine of Twenty Thousand Pesos (P21,000.00).

 

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Eddie continues to sit as a Regional Trial Court Judge in Tagatay City, Philippines.
