Attorney Leslie Campbell of Jamaica; ethical ogre

The Jamaica Licensing Commission provided Leroy Kajo Equiano with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of West Indies.

The Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Counsel found Leslie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to explain status of case to client
• Failed to explain implications involving case to client
• Failed to adequately communicate with his client
• Failed to provide client with all information as to the progress of his business
• Failed to expedite client litigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Leroy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and ordering that he pay a fine of $100,000.00 and assessed costs of $35,000.00.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Leslie practices with Campbell & Campbell at 16 Worthington Terrace in Kingston, Jamaica.
