Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX: Today’s “Homophobe” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Dick. In the past, he has been the recipient of thirteen (13) Awards in various categories, which can be viewed by going to the listed categories at the end of this article. 

In a never ending attempt to toss a little red meat to the morons and bigots that actually listen to and/or believe what Louie the Loon has to say, he recently decided to spew forth his usual garbage in attacking members of the gay community.

During a recent (02/26/14) appearance on the Janet Mefferd Comedy Radio Show, Louie decided to comment on the anti-gay legislation passed by the Arizona state legislature by saying he was a fan of the bill that would allow for businesses to discriminate against members of the gay community.

The Phobe went on to say:

• “These are religious beliefs and how have we gotten so far afield from the Constitution that we say, well if you’re not willing to embrace the liberal beliefs that we have then your religious beliefs are not protected.”
• “It doesn’t say that in the First Amendment, it avoids the establishment of a religion. Well some are establishing the religion of secularism and everybody else’s religion has got to basically go to blazes.”

Given Louie’s well-documented delusional state of mind, he would likely claim that if a member of the KKK holds a religious belief that African-Americans are inferior humans, then the KKK members who own business should be able to express their religious believes by discriminating against blacks.

During the time I was a choir boy and alter boy at Rosary Cathedral Grade School in Toledo, Ohio, I was witness to hundreds upon hundreds of sermons delivered by various priests and many by then Bishop George Rehring. I don’t recall when any priest or the Bishop ever claimed that they had a god-given right to openly discriminate against anyone.

Hopefully the day will come when the good folks in Louie’s district tire of his screwy and delusional conduct and vote him out of office.

Congrats Louie; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Homophobes”; you are far too humble.
