Rep. Rob DeSantis (R-FL): Today’s “Homophobe” Award Winner

Rob is yet another attorney that apparently found it difficult to earn a dishonest living practicing law. He then decided to go into the second most ethical profession which is of course politics.

Rob then succeeded in duping the voters in the St. Augustine, Florida into electing him as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2012.

When Mike Huckabee recently (10/10/14) threatened on the Fox News Comedy Chanel that he would leave the GOP because of the muffled response to gay marriage victories by Republican leaders, Rob assured Mike and those of his ilk that the Republican Party was not giving up on its fight against gay rights.

Rob then told Newsmax Comedy TV that Huck should not think about leaving the GOP. Rob then said:

  • “Being in Congress and seeing the left wing of the Democratic Party and the elite media in action, they are hostile to conservative cultural values across the board, they are hostile to religious liberty and a lot of our traditions and I think that the Republican Party and conservative voters are really the only force against that.”
  • “I understand where [Huckabee's] coming from but I think there’s a whole bunch of issues in which the left is hostile to where the governor is going to be coming from and really you’ve got to have a strong opposition party to be able to stand up for those values.”

What Rob is really saying is that he and his fellow GOP bigots will continue to do what they can to make sure that laws will not stand that prevent them from discriminating against members of the gay community. Put simply, they actually believe that they have a God-given right to discriminate against gays by falsely claiming it to be a Family Values matter.

And lastly, I wonder how Rob would react if his wife Casey Black DeSantis were to announce sometime in the future that she was a lesbian. Would Rob the Humanitarian demand that her civil rights be trampled upon?

Congrats Rob; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Homophobes”; you are far too humble.
