Barrister Mark Mullins of London, UK; unethical homophobe

The Bar Society presented Mark Mullins with a law license in 1995.

The Bar Council found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

Under the “cab rank rule’ lawyers are assigned cases on a rotating system and are not permitted to pick and choose who they represent, regardless of the nature of the case or client.

A lawyer can refuse to represent clients under certain circumstances, such as when the client admits guilt in private but still intends to plead not guilty or if the lawyer has been threatened with physical violence.

In one matter, Mark refused to accept an appointment to represent a gentleman based solely on the fact that he was gay. Mark the Homophobe claimed that the gentleman’s homosexual lifestyle was “unacceptable” to him and therefore knowingly and intentionally ignored the rule mandating that he represent members of the public regardless of the nature of the case and despite his personal opinion about the client.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Council punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Mark the Phobe practices at 5 St. Andrew’s Hill in London, United Kingdom.
