Barrister Jonathan Turner of London, UK; ethical troll

The Bar of England and Wales by Gray’s Inn provided Jonathan James Turner with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Bristol School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Behaved in a way which could reasonably be seen by the public to undermine his honesty and integrity
  • Acted recklessly as to whether he had authority from the prosecution to upload NAE6 to the Crown Court Digital Case System
  • Failed to observe his duty to the court in the administration of justice
  • Recklessly misled the court
  • Inappropriately uploaded an indictment onto the Crown Court Digital Case System
  • Acted recklessly as to whether the court would be misled into believing that the indictment had been uploaded and validly preferred by the Prosecution
  • Carried out a reserved legal activity that he was not entitled to carry out
  • Behaved in a way which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in him or the profession
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to manage or carry out his practice in such a way as to ensure compliance with his legal and regulatory obligations

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Barrister Misfits sitting on the Bar Standards Board punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license and assessed disciplinary costs of £4,680.00.

As we speak (ca. January 2023), Johnny practices at 379 Hendon Way in London, United Kingdom.
