Barrister Alan MacLean of England; drunken convict

The Law Society presented Alan John MacLean with a Barristers license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Bristol School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found Alan guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Behaved in a way which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in him or in the profession
  • Convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Fined £17,833.00 ($23,111.00) and disqualified from driving for a period of 23 weeks

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Barrister Misfits sitting on the Bar Standards Board punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and a fine of £600 ($770.00).

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Alan practices at One Essex Court, Temple, in London, United Kingdom.
