The Law Society presented Richard Quinn with a law license in 1984.

 

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Acted recklessly in divulging confidential client financial information
  • Provided “To Whom it May Concern” letter that he knew was misleading
  • Offered to give an undertaking make funds available to Hartlepool United Football Club without completing due diligence on the source of the funds and the uses to which the funds would be put by Hartlepool United Football Club
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Accepted payments into his personal bank account in respect of work undertaken without informing his firm’s partners
  • Had not undertaken adequate due diligence enquiries into client business activities

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Tribunal punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary £5,000 (US $6,074.00) fine and assessed costs of £6,000 (US $7,289.00).
