Solicitor Jusna Miah of United Kingdom; ethical gremlin

The Law Society presented Jusna Begum Miah with a law license in 1998.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Jusna guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Caused harm to the immigration system, the courts and the Home Office
  • Submitted numerous spurious (frivolous) immigration applications
  • Brought claims which were an abuse of process of the court
  • Caused harm to vulnerable clients
  • Unfairly raised clients’ expectations in obtaining indefinite leave to remain in England
  • Misconduct detrimental to the public purse, with resources being diverted away from genuine claims
  • Pursued course of conduct that undermined the operation of the immigration system
  • Charged fees to vulnerable clients for services which had no prospect of delivering for the client their desired outcome
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Tribunal punished Jusna by gifting her with a complimentary £12,000 (US $14,590.00) fine and assessed costs of £26,552 (US $32,283.00).

As we speak (ca. October 2019), Jusna practices with M-R Solicitors LLP at 140 High Road in London, England.
