Solicitor Manus Tolland of Scotland; ethical leprechaun

The Law Society presented Manus Gerard Tolland with a law license in 1981.

The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Manus guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct
  • Failed to comply with terms of common law standard applicable to a solicitor acting on behalf of lender in conveyancing transaction
  • Failed to comply with CML Handbook for Scotland
  • Failed to act with absolute propriety
  • Failed to protect cleint interests in conveyancing transaction
  • Failed to adequately supervise employee
  • Failed to abide by established conveyancing practice
  • Failed to adhere to duties owned to his clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Manus by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Manus practices with Berlow Rahman Solicitors at 40 Carlton Place in Glasgow, Scotland.
