Attorney James Young of Vancouver, BC; serial tax cheat

The Law Society of British Columbia presented James Peter Young with a law license in 1982.

The Law Society of British Columbia Disciplinary Committee found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Collected Goods and Services Tas from clients but failed to remit said funds and interest due to Canada Revenue Agency in payment of the GST in a timely way
• Collected Harmonized Sales Tax from clients but failed to remit funds and interest due to Canada Revenue Agency in payment of the HST in a timely manner
• Collected British Columbia Provincial from clients but failed to remit funds due to the provincial government in payment of the PST in a timely way

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Upper Law Society Committee punished Jimmy by gifting him a complimentary $2,000 fine.
