Sen. Alberta Darling: Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Sen. Alberta Darling
Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

After the Republican majority sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court upheld Republican legislation that in all truth can be described as “Union Busting 101,” Alberta the Comic decided it was time to audition for a recent opening at The Comedy Club on State which is located at 202 State Street in Madison.

The opening for a new comic at the Comedy Club came about when State Senator Scott Fitzgerald’s application was unfortunately denied.

When Alberta (aka, the Darling of legislative comedians) was asked about the Supreme Court decision by Patrick Marley and Don Walker of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, she praised the Supreme Court and disparaged Judge Sumi for her earlier rulings, saying she “stepped all over the people of Wisconsin.”

Rodney went on to say, “You think of all the chaos and discord and acrimony that’s gone on in this Capitol as the result of her decision and just doing what she wanted, which she had no cause, no basis, no rule of law. She just did what she wanted for political reasons. To me, it was despicable.”

Despicable to do or say something just for political reasons, ya say? The Comic’s statement doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test.

Apparently, Rodney’s vote to bust the unions in Wisconsin wasn’t politically motivated, right?

The Comic is facing a recall election within the next two months or so. It certainly appears that she will likely loose this special election. Of course Rodney could prevail if she could persuade her neighbor and mentor, U.S. Senator Al Franken of Minnesota to do a little campaigning for her.

When the Comic loses her job via being recalled, she can always apply for a job as a greeter with Sam’s Club at 7050 Watts Road in Madison, right? And if that doesn’t pan out for ya Alberta, there are opportunities as a manicurist [chance to nail your detractors] after graduating from the Empire Beauty School in Madison.

Congrats Alberta; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as an up and coming standup comedian; you are far too humble.
