Attorney John M. Bradley of Georgetown, TX; lifetime porker, ethical elf

The state of Texas provided John Martin Bradley with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Houston Law School.

Since receiving his law license in 1985, John has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. His years of disservice to Texans are as follows:
  1. 1985 -1986 – law clerk for Criminal Court of Appeals Judge Charges Campbell
  2. 1987-1989 – Assistant Harris County (Houston) District Attorney
  3. 1990 – 2000 – Felony prosecutor in Williamson County DAs Office
After years of dedicated service as a lackey for the local political hacks, Gov. Rick Perry rewarded Johnny by appointing him as the Williamson County District Attorney. In 2002, Johnny succeeded in duping the voters into electing him as the Williamson County DA.

John’s 2011 attempt to dupe the voters into re-electing him as DA did not succeed. Johnny was defeated by County Attorney Jana Duty.

Johnny’s downfall related to the wrongful murder conviction of Michael Morton who spent 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. For nearly six years, Johnny fought tooth and nail to prevent Morton from proving his innocence by conducting a DNA test. The DNA test was finally ordered by a Judge over the stringent objections of Johnny. That DNA test conclusively proved that Morton was innocent. In fact, the DNA test led to arrest of Mark Norwood who was charged with the murder of Morton’s wife in February 2012.

Kudos to the voters of Williamson County who refused to be duped into voting for someone who had no qualms about allowing an innocent man to sit in prison for a crime he did not commit.

Since it is highly unlikely that any self-respecting law firm in the Austin area is about to offer Johnny a good paying job, he might want to think about applying for a job as a greeter at the local Sam’s Club.
