Texas’ 2010 Nepotism Award Winner is Rep. Tom Craddick

The WatchDawg is proud to announce that Texas State Rep. Tom Craddick (past Texas Speaker of the House) is the winner of this prestigious award, despite keen competition among like-minded colleagues who ineptly attempted to unseat Tommy Baby.

Tommy Boy is without doubt the quintessential nepotistic so-called public servant in the history of Texas politics. From 2003 through June 2010, Tommy Baby found it acceptable to hose his contributors to the tune of $894,457 as payments to his daughter Christi for alleged services provided to his campaign.

Tommy personally valued his daughter Christi’s services at $8,000 a month in 2003; however, as of 2009 he valued the same services to be worth over $12,000 a month.

During this same period of time, Tommy Baby authorized his campaign to pay $383,024 for services rendered to the campaign by the following twenty-four (24) individuals:
Since Tommy paid his daughter almost 2 and ½ times as much as he paid the 24 staff members aforementioned, it must be presumed that they were a bunch of losers in providing relevant campaign services in comparison to Christi, right? Put simply, they appear to be a bunch of certified losers!!

Now I ain’t got anything against a little nepotism! In the day (ca. early 1980s) in Toledo, Ohio, I employed my oldest daughter Angela to act as a Maitre d at an Asian restaurant I designed and operated. The only compensation that Angela received was from tips she received from customers, which amounted to about $300 to $400 a week.

To assure that I wasn’t labeled as a Grinch and because father’s are expected to spoil their daughters (I’ve got three) to the nth degree, on Angela’s 16th birthday I bought her a fully-loaded 1980 Buick Riviera.

I can’t imagine what my neighbors (CEO of Peoples Savings Bank, Lucas County DA and numerous physicians would have thought had I had the chutzpah to pay Angela several thousand dollars a month to act as a Maitre d.

Lastly, Tommy clearly gives “nepotism” a bad name if y’all know what I mean. In truth, Tom’s an embarrassment to us Dad’s that have dedicated our lives to spoiling our daughters!

Congrats Tommy; keep up the good work! We should let your constituents all know of your amazing record; you are far too modest.
