Dallas Area Legislators Filing Inaccurate Financial Statements

Dear Mr. Cox:
 
This complaint deals with Dallas area legislators who appear to have filed inaccurate (false) annual financial statements in regards to Part 6: Personal Notes and Lease Agreements requires filers to disclose all lease agreements involving the filer and/or family member wherein the liability exceeds $1,000.
 
The facts below clearly demonstrate that the named filers were involved in leases for autos and/or condo/apartments in Austin. However, as you’ll see they failed to disclose said leases in their financial statements.
 
Obviously, I do not have access to any lease agreements entered into by these filers; however, it would be hard to believe that they could obtain a condo/apartment for personal use without executing a lease in their own names. The same is true as to leasing a vehicle. Additionally, leasing furniture and/or appliances for an Austin condo/apartment for a filer would surely require him/her to sign the lease/rental agreement as to personal liability. In fact, there are some legislators who make said disclosures. I can provide that information to you if you’d like.
 
Below the filer’s name you’ll see breakdowns for “Austin Condo/Apt Lease” and/or “Auto Lease.” Following these headings is the yearly amounts paid, whether the lease was “not listed” or listed as “N/A, which is then followed by the date the filer filed his/her statement.
 
In an effort to not overwhelm your office, I have limited this complaint to legislators from the Dallas area. In the near future I will forward similar complaints involving legislators from San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Brownsville and El Paso areas for your consideration. The 10legislators named herein are listed in alphabetical order.
