Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA): Today’s “Public Official Misfit"

Congratulations to….

Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA)

Today’s “Bigot” Award Winner

A recent (May 2016) vote in the House of Representatives on a $37.4 billion water and energy bill failed because it included a provision ensuring that people who work for government contractors can’t be fired for being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. (Huffington Post)

In addition to the prohibition against firing LBGT folks, the legislation was filled with GOP provisions undermining the Clean Water Act and allowing people to carry firearms on Corp of Engineer lands. And lastly, Republicans included language prohibiting the federal government from revoking funds to North Carolina in regards to its transgender bathroom laws.

In response to the provision protecting LGBT workers from being fired, Rep. Allen read from a passage from the Bible and asked his fellow bigots in the House if they were ready to violate their religious principles by supporting the bill.

In truth, Ricky the Homophobic Bigot was demanding that House members support his legislation because the Bible and by extension Jesus made it mandatory to discriminate against the LGBT community.

Maybe Ricky would be kind enough to enlighten us on the exact passage in the Bible that mandates this type of discriminatory conduct. Come on Ricky, inquiring minds would like to know!

One must question why Ricky expends so much energy spewing forth his homophobic hatred towards members of the gay community. Maybe it’s time to ask Ricky the following:

“What’s in your closet, Ricky?”

Congrats Ricky; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Bigots”; you are far too humble.
