California State Senator Gil Cedillo; greedy, arrogant ingrate

Last year the California Citizens Compensation Commission reduced the salary of state legislatures by 18% from $116,208 to $96,000 a year.

Recently, State Senator Gil Cedillo of Los Angeles had the chutzpah to appeal this wage reduction to the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board. Ol Gil’s claim that he is a “victim” doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test!

From 1998 to 2010, Cedillo represented the 46th Assembly District and the 22nd Senate District, respectively. During that time, the taxpayers were hosed to the tune of at least $105,000 to provide Gil with luxury rides of his choosing. (See text box 1 and 2 at end of article)  In total, during his 8 years in the Senate, the State over $200,000 to provide Gil with transportation costs. (See text box 3 at the end of article)

Gil doesn’t incur any expenses to commute to and from his place of employment which is Sacramento. The State (that’d be y’all) pay for his airfare to and from LA and provides him with a luxury ride of his choosing. In fact, his Royal Highness determined he was entitled to a $53,435 Lexus 400H in June 2007. Gil’s prior ride was a 2004 Grand Cherokee that cost ya $33,726. I guess he needed a 4-Wheel drive Jeep given the history of substantial snowfalls in the LA area during the winter, right?

Cedillo Actual Wages per Day and Hour

For Cedillo and/or any of the so-called dedicated public servants in the legislature to claim they are woefully underpaid is patently absurd as the facts dealing with 2009 below indicate. (Source: State Senate Daily Journals)

2009 Legislative Sessions = 130 days
  • April 3 – 12 = 0 days
  • Jul 24 – Aug 16 = 0 days
  • Oct 1 -12 = 0 days
  • Nov 3 – 29 = 0 days
  • Dec 1 – 14 = 0 days
  1. 2009 actual state earnings = $116,208 + $36,658 = $152,866
  2. $1,176 = actually daily wages based on 130 workdays
  3. $147 – hourly wages based on 130 workdays
Now wouldn’t y’all (that’d be you overtaxed Californians) love it if you only had to work four (4) total days in November and December? How about you low-level state workers (aka, grunts) that for the most part do all of the heavy lifting?

Cedillo threatens lawsuit if Victim Board rules against him

Cedillo has indicated that he would file a lawsuit if the Victim Board does not reinstate the cutbacks in wages, per diem and car costs. Prior to permanently implanting his significant snout in the public trough and after graduating scum laude from UCLA, Gil received a law degree from the People’s College of Law, an unaccredited law school in LA. Fortunately for us, the California Supreme Court refused to gift him with a law license.

Obtaining a law degree from the People’s College of Law is akin to receipt of degrees from the following:
  • Chef’s Degree from the Jeffrey Dahmer Culinary Institute
  • Master in Ethics Degree from the Huey Long School of Ethics at LSU
This certified loser doesn’t deserve half of what he is paid by Californians. It’s time that Mr. Cedillo applied for a real job! I hear tell that the Wal Mart store located at 3148 West Pico Blvd. in LA is always looking for incompetent, I’m sorry I mean competent greeters. And if that doesn’t work out for ya Gil, try out the Los Angeles Bartending School located at 11957 Santa Monica Blvd. in LA. What a loser!!!
