Attorney Emily Davey of Milwaukee; deceitful scofflaw
The state of Wisconsin presented Emily D. Davey with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from Marquette University Law School.
The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Emily guilty of the following misconduct.
-
Illegally backdated signature on settlement agreement
-
Falsely notarized settlement document even though she had not been present when her client signed the document
-
Modified settlement agreement w/o client knowledge or consent
-
Waived client’s federal claims w/o client authorization or prior knowledge
-
Failed to consult with client regarding client’s objective to preserve his right to file suit in federal court while settling the state claim and by failing to pursue that objective
-
Failed to consult with the client as to the means by which he could settle the state claim while preserving his right to sue in federal court
-
Failed to comply with federal court orders (Up yours, said Emily!)
-
As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Emily by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. April 2017), Emily practices with Phillips Cymerman & Stein SC at 161 West Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
