Attorney Ronald Chin of Lynnwood, WA; ethical troll

The state of Washington presented Ronald F. Chin with a law license in 1979 after he graduated Gonzaga University School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Ronnie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Ronnie!)
  • Failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure that the person's conduct is compatible with the professional obligations of the lawyer
  • Failed to assure that all funds of a client paid to him be deposited into an identifiable interest-bearing trust account
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain complete records of all funds, securities, and other properties of a client
  • Failed to render appropriate accounts regarding client funds
  • Failed to maintain a checkbook register for his trust account
  • Failed to maintain individual client ledgers for clients who had funds in his trust account
  • Failed to maintain a record of trust account activity

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Ronnie by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Donnie practices his brand of law at 4215 198th Street SW in Lynnwood, Washington.
