Attorney Larry Hopt of Seattle; thieving slacker

The state of Washington presented Larry W. Hopt with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Washington School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Larry guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Failed to place client funds into his trust account
  • Failed to explain the basis for his fee
  • Failed to refund unearned fees [thief]
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators, (Screw you, said Larry!)
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Larry practices in Seattle, Washington.
