Attorney Steven Thayer of Vancouver, WA; ethical gremlin

The state of Washington presented Steven Whitman Thayer with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Represented client when it limited his own interests
• Engaged in prohibited business transaction with client
• Failed to disclose in writing that client business transaction was fair and reasonable
• Failed to advise client to seek independent advice re: business transaction

Because of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
