Attorney Sue Kobak of Pennington Gap, VA; ethical elf

The state of Virginia presented Sue Ella Easterling Kobak with a law license in 1982 after she graduated from the University of Kentucky Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Sue guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Delegated professional to manage her escrow and trust accounts to an administrative assistant, who embezzled money from the client accounts

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia State Bar Tenth District, Section II Subcommittee punished Sue by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
