Attorney Joseph Wool of Burlington, VT; cheater, serial offender

 

The state of Vermont presented Joseph S. Wool with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Maine School of Law.

 

The Vermont Professional Responsibility Board found Joey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

FYI: Prior to the disciplinary matters set forth below, Joey was the recipient of four (4) complimentary private admonitions for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

 

Joey’s 5th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Joey!)
  • Failed to maintain records of the trust funds and to account for them
  • Failed to expend the $15 an hour to obtain essential bank records with knowledge that ethics investigators were investigating a client’s complaint
  • Client suffered injury or potential injury because Joey has not accounted for at least $2000 that he received in trust for his client while he was incarcerated
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Vermont Supreme Court punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Joey’s 6th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to render an accounting of retainers received from clients
  • Failed to refund advance payments that were not earned (cheater)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Vermont Supreme Court punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Joey practices his brand of law at 289 College Street in Burlington, Vermont.
