Attorney C. Robert Manby Jr. of White River Junction, VT; ethical goblin

The State of Vermont presented C. Robert Manby Jr. with a law license in 198o after he graduated from the Vermont School of Law.

The Vermont Bar Court found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Never obtained or reviewed copy of client will
• Never discussed with client whether any of the changes to estate planning were related in any way to the content of the client’s will
• Failed to aske client where she understood effect of advance directive on health care prior to its execution
• Failed to specifically review scope of changes relative to new power of attorney or meet privately with client
• AT not time did Bobby ask client any general questions along the lines of what her intentions were relevant to the conveyance of he shared interest in her home
• Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Vermont Bar Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Bobby practices with Welch Graham & Manby at 220 Holiday Drive in White River Junction, Vermont.
