Attorney Denise Larkin of Ogden, UT; idiotic thief

The State of Utah provided Denise P. Larkin with a law license in 1997 after she graduated from the University of Utah School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found Denise guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Charged and/or collected an unreasonable fee (cheater)
  • Failed to decline/terminate representation when required to so act
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Denise!)
  • Made false statements to the client about having filed a petition and scheduling a court hearing for the client’s case
  • Failed to refund unearned fees (thief)
  • Failed to withdraw from case after client requested same
  • Failed to provide an accounting of the fees she received
  • In three matters Denise collected fees from her clients and performed little to no work to earn the funds or did not do enough work to earn the full
  • amount of the funds she was paid
  • Failed to consult with the client prior to continuing scheduled court dates causing additional expense to the client for travel costs
  • Failed to keep clients informed of court hearings and the status of their cases

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Denise by gifting her with a complimentary 3-year suspension of her law license.
