Attorney Javier Davila of Austin, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Javier J. Campos Davila with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Houston School of Law.

The District 9 Grievance Committee found Javier guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to keep his client informed of status of her civil matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Client’s lawsuit was non-suited without her prior knowledge and consent
• Failed to abide by client decisions concerning objectives of the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Javier by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed investigative costs of $1,166.46.
