Attorney Yvette Cain of Nashville; incompetent Dumbo

The state of Tennessee provided Yvette Yolanda Cain with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the Thurgood Marshall Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Yvette guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Yvette represented a client in a post-divorce child support modification proceeding. After the parties reached an agreement, Yvette forwarded the proposed order to the clerk for entry with the trial court.

However, after she filed the order with the court, Yvette discovered that the order had been misplaced by the clerk and was never signed by the trial judge.

Due to Yvette’s gross incompetence, it wasn’t until nearly three (3) years later that she took any affirmative steps to have the judge sign the order. During that three year period of time, Yvette failed to communicate with her client about the status of the order.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Yvette by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. May) Yvette practices at 4121 Clarksville Pike in Nashville, Tennessee.
