The state of Tennessee provided presented Jason R. McLellan with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from Appalachian University School of Law.

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Jason guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted, or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Client’s mother authorized Jason to make three charges to her credit card for her son’s fees
  • Despite the mother’s authorization, Jason made several additional charges
  • Failed to respond to communications from his client about his fees
  • Failed to have the client sign an employment agreement
  • Failed to provide the client any invoices justifying the fees he charged
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to terminate client representation when required to do so

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2020) Jason practices at 158 Cherokee Street in Kingsport, Tennessee.
