The state of Tennessee provided Mitchell Stanley Givens Jr. with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Mitch guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Mitch’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo) 
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Mitch by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Mitch’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to safeguard client property and funds
  • Failed to withdraw when withdrawal mandated
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Mitch by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. January 2017) Mitch practices at 112 East Myrtle Avenue in Johnson City, Tennessee.
