Attorney Charles Brooks III of Sumter, SC; cheating loser

The state of South Carolina presented Charles Thomas Brooks III with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The Office of Discipline Counsel found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

The majority of Charlie’s practice was devoted to representing indigents in post-conviction relief, Department of Social Services, and sexually violent predator actions. He also represented indigents in criminal cases and probation revocation matters.

The director of the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense (SCCID) discovered that during a time period covering two (2) years and eight (8) months, Charlie’s billing vouchers to the SCCID contained numerous errors. In fact, after Charlie’s billing records for that period of time were totaled by date rather than viewed as separate vouchers, the calculations revealed that Charlie billed SCCID in excess of 24 hours per day for fourteen (14) separate days.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand

As we speak (ca. April 2014) Charlie practices with the Law Office of Charles Thomas Brooks III at 309 Broad Street in Sumter, South Carolina.
