Attorney Donna Givens of Lexington, SC; thieving loser

The state of New York presented Donna Seevers Given with a law license in 1988 after she graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The First Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Donna guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Charged an unreasonable fee (cheater)
  2. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  3. Committed a criminal act
  4. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  5. Failed to safeguard client funds

In one matter, Donna was arrested and charged with Unlawful Prescription Drugs, Blank Prescription First Offense. After she successfully completed the Pre-Trial Intervention Program, the prosecutor dismissed the case.

In another matter, Donna represented Nationwide Ins. Co. policyholders. Over a 3-month period of time, Donna submitted timesheets in one client’s case for attendance at twenty (20) roster meetings in Richland County. It was later discovered that the client’s case had been removed from the roster one-year earlier. It was further discovered that the billing for the roster meetings and related entries were fabricated as respondent had not attended any roster meetings in the case. The total amount fraudulently billed by Donna was $10,566.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Departmental Disciplinary Committee punished Donna by gifting her with a complimentary 9-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (April 2014), Donna practices at 125 Misty Oaks Place in Lexington, South Carolina.
