Attorney Asher Chancey of Philadelphia; lying slacker

The state of Pennsylvania provided Asher Brooks Chancey with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from Temple University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Asher guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material facto or law to a third person
  • Failed to explain a matter to extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to abide by client decisions concerning objectives of the representation
  • Engaged in a pattern of negligence in handling client legal matters
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to consult with client about means by which the client’s objectives are to be accomplished

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme punished Asher by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Asher practices at 1700 Market Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
