Attorney Thomas Ifversen of Lake Oswego, OR; ethical goblin

The State of Oregon presented Thomas Ifversen with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from Williamette University School of Law.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Tommy!)
  • Acted with a selfish motive
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • For five months Tommy failed to file motion for expungement of a client’s criminal convictions for the purpose of the client receiving a job offer
  • Tommy lied to the client that he had filed the expungement motions
  • Misrepresented the status of the expungement matters to his client
  • As a result of Tommy’s conduct, the was unable to accept the job offered to him

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

And lastly, as one would suspect,Tommy fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.ifversenlaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Tommy practices his so-called brand of law in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
