Attorney William Bernhardt of Choctaw, OK; serial drunken felon

The state of Oklahoma provided William Bernhardt with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from the University of Tulsa School of Law.

The Oklahoma Bar Association found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty to the felony crimes of Driving While Under the Influence, a felony, and
  • Pled guilty Aggravated Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a felony
  • Pled guilty to Transportation of an Open Container, a misdemeanor

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Billy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously convicted of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Leaving the Scene of an Accident in connection with events occurring in Jenks, Oklahoma. He also had a 2007 misdemeanor drunk driving conviction in Tulsa, and a misdemeanor public drunk conviction. The latter conviction resulted from his still being drunk the next morning after consuming alcohol the day before.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Billy the Felon.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Billy practices in Choctaw, Oklahoma.
