Attorney William L. D. Dawson of Cleveland; Dumbo, slacker
The state of Ohio presented William Levar Dwayne Dawson with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.
The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association found William guilty of the following misconduct
While defending two clients (victims) in a age-discrimination lawsuit, William’s failure to respond to discovery requests and to oppose the plaintiff’s motion for summary judgment, led to the court granting the summary judgment motion and deeming the questions asked in discovery as being admitted too by the client-victims.
Bill’s gross negligence led to the court granting a default judgment against his clients, resulting in an award of $184,675 for the plaintiff and against Bill’s victim-clients. Eventually Bill’s client’s entered into a settlement with the plaintiff’s for an amount less that then $184,675 the court judgment.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished William by gifting him with a complimentary stayed six-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. May 2012) William practices law at 13938 Cedar Road in Cleveland, Ohio
