Attorney Wendy Rosett of Shaker Heights, OH; ethical goblin

The state of Ohio presented Wendy Sue Rosett with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from Case Western University School of Law.

The Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Counsel found Wendy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to maintain required trust-account records
  • Failed to adequately protect client funds
  • Neglected at least five separate client matters
  • Failed to appear at scheduled mediation hearings
  • Failed to advise client of adverse mediation decision
  • Failed to maintain a client ledger
  • Failed to perform monthly reconciliations
  • Failed to refund unearned fees, thereby causing client to sue her in court and obtained a judgment against her in order to collect
  • Failed to timely file answer in foreclosure action on client’s behalf
  • Failed to appear at default-judgment hearing on behalf of her client
  • Failed to timely appeal default judgment
  • Missed two filing deadlines in a client matter

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Wendy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Debbie by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Wendy.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Wendy is employed with the Shaker Heights Municipal Court at 3355 Lee Road in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
