Attorney Nathan Garren of Creedmoor, NC; ethical elf

The state of North Carolina presented Nathan M. Garren with a law license in 1977 after she graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Nate guilty of the following misconduct.

In 2017 real estate closing, Nate and his staff followed wiring instructions emailed to his office rather than following the wiring instructions provided by the intended recipient. As a result, his office wired entrusted funds to a fraudster.

In 2019, Nate and his staff again failed to verify the authenticity of an email purporting to change wiring instructions and again wired entrusted funds to a fraudster.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Nate by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Nate practices at 2555 Capitol Drive in Creedmoor, North Carolina.
