Attorney Carmen Battle of Garner, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Carmen J. Battle with a law license in 2005 after she graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Carmen guilty of the following misconduct.

• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Failed to maintain and disburse entrusted funds
• Failed to reconcile trust accounts

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Carmen gifting her with a complimentary stayed 5-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Carmen.
