Attorney Thomas Downer of Charlotte; ethical gremlin

The state of North Carolina presented Thomas T. Downer with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to exercise thoroughness and preparation necessary for representation
• Failed to explain in timely fashion to the client to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make a timely, informed
• decision
• Mishandled client files

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. July 2015) Tommy practices with Downer, Walters & Mitchener PA at 701 East Morehead Street in Charlotte, Carolina.
